DISABILITY AWARENESS
TOWN HALL held on October 19th.

The newly renamed SVRC Building in Saginaw (1000 Tuscola St.) was the site of a Town Hall meeting on Friday, October 19th.

Partnering agencies presenting the Town Hall were: Disability Network of Mid-Michigan, Michigan Works!, Michigan Commission for the Blind, SVRC Industries, Inc., Arnold Center, Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority, and Michigan Sports Unlimited.

The focus of the Town Hall meeting was to help remove any barriers that exist in our communities that prevent full inclusion for people with disabilities.

While there are many issues that warrant discussion, three main topics were chosen:
    HOUSING
    TRANSPORTATION
    EMPLOYMENT

A brief presentation was given on each subject by an agency expert, followed by an organized Q&A period.

Stay tuned for a Town Hall event in YOUR community.
