Crip Camp

A Netflix documentary that chronicles the story of Camp Jened, a 1970s summer camp for disabled teenagers in New York. The film shows how this empowering, free-wheeling environment sparked a grassroots movement for disability rights, leading many former campers to become activists in the fight for accessibility legislation.

 

March 18 | 4:30–7pm

The Ride Ahead

Follow 21-year-old Samuel, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, as he navigates the challenges of transitioning to adulthood. Seeking independence, he interviews disability activists to create a “roadmap” for dating, college, and living on his own, confronting ableism along the way.

Spellers

A documentary exploring the lives of eight non-speaking individuals with autism who, long dismissed as intellectually disabled, reveal their intelligence and thoughts through the “Spelling to Communicate” (S2C) letterboard method.
