SSI / SSDI - Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal income supplement program designed to help people with disabilities, who have little or no income, meet basic needs for food, clothing and shelter. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) provides income supplements to people who are physically restricted in their ability to be employed because of a notable disability. If you are applying for these programs, Disability Network can provide assistance with the application. No matter if you are just starting the process, if you need help along the way or if you are filing an appeal of a denial, Disability Network can help.

MEDICARE/MEDICAID -  Do you receive Medicaid or Medicare? Are you enrolled in Medicare Part D? Disability Network has a certified Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) counselor on staff to provide help with any of your Medicare or Medicaid needs.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGIES - Assistive Technology (AT) is any item, product, system or equipment that improves life for people with disabilities. AT includes everything from walkers, reachers, grab bars, and hospital beds to power scooters, custom vans, Braille machines and computer screen-reading software. Disability Network can help you find the AT you need and also the resources to pay for it. The Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund is specifically set up for people with disabilities and it offers a low-interest loan for the technology you may need. We can help you apply for the loan. We also provide demonstrations of a number of low-cost AT items that can help you maintain your independence. Call 1-800-782-4160 today to schedule a demonstration!

DHHS APPLICATIONS - Disability Network can help you apply

for assistance through the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS). Whether it’s home-help services, food stamps, or cash assistance, we can help you determine for what programs you want to apply and we can guide you through the application process.

BASIC NEEDS - Our information and referral specialists are dedicated to the independent living philosophy. We will help you access community resources for anything from utility shut-off notices to food pantries or even rent payments.

HOUSING- At Disability Network, we promote the independent living philosophy. If you are looking for housing or if you are looking for help so you can stay in your own home, we can help you find resources for affordable and accessible housing, ramps, housing vouchers or rent/mortgage payment assistance.

PEER SUPPORT - Would you like to talk to someone with a disability about the obstacles in your life or in your community? We have a network of individuals dedicated to helping people over come these barriers.
