Juneteenth Events
Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, culture, and community. Observed annually on June 19, Juneteenth also serves as an opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history while recognizing the ongoing importance of equity, inclusion, and justice for all.
Communities across Mid-Michigan will be hosting events throughout June to honor Juneteenth through music, education, food, art, performances, parades, and community gatherings. These celebrations provide opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate Black history and culture together. Below are several Juneteenth events taking place throughout the region this year.
