DNMM Sponsoring Accessible Services at Dow Diamond
Disability Network of Mid-Michigan (DNMM) is pleased to announce they will be the presenting sponsor of accessible services at Dow Diamond for the 2018 baseball season. This agreement continues a long-standing partnership that has existed between DNMM, the Great Lakes Loons, and the Michigan Baseball Foundation (MBF) since 2006.
With Dow Diamond’s groundbreaking, the Loons, the MBF, and DNMM worked to create a world class stadium that was accessible to all fans. DNMM aided the Loons in meeting and exceeding stadium requirements set by the Americans with Disabilities Act and continues to be a key community partner in making Dow Diamond a model of accessibility.
“We’re proud to be the exclusive partner of accessible services here at Dow Diamond this season,” said DNMM Executive Director Steven Locke. “As the leading advocacy and resource group for individuals with disabilities in the Great Lakes Bay Region, we believe that baseball and summer time fun should be accessible for all individuals.”
“Disability Network was an instrumental resource during the construction of Dow Diamond in 2006, said Great Lakes Loons President Paul Barbeau. “They continue to be a resource for us as the landscape of accessible services evolves. Together we are able to provide a premier stadium that can be enjoyed by everyone.”
The many accessible services available at Dow Diamond include: wheelchair seating and companion seats in both the reserved box and premier box seating sections, wheelchair seating in the outfield lawn seating sections, accessible parking spots, drop-off and pick-up locations, accessible restrooms and drinking fountains, elevators at each entry gate, assistive listening systems, visual emergency notifications, curbside wheelchair assistance at entry gates, and much more.
